Taking a break
I needed to take a minute and vent. I really don't have the time to be on the computer at all right now, but my legs are killing me and I had to sit down. We got the keys to our new house Sunday night. Which is great, but didn't go as planned. Let me remind you that we closed on this house back on Dec. 5th, and the sellers have been renting back from us. We had March 1st at 4:30pm scheduled for the final walk-through and turning over of the keys. Well......obviously 3 months was not enough time for them to get packed and moved out!! We showed up at 4:30pm ready and excited to finally get possession of OUR house, only to find them still packing! The upstairs was cleared out, but the main level was a disaster. They assured us that they would be all cleared out in just a few more hours. Well, because their stuff was still in the house, the walk-through wasn't really productive. I came over the next morning to begin painting to find a pile of trash in the garage (the kind of trash that can't just be put on the curb, but needs to be taken to the dump), and pile of their 'stuff' that they would come get later, and a pile of 'things' they left for us to have (wonderful...just what I needed). When I went into the house I found that they had cleared it out, but not cleaned it at all! The kitchen and bathrooms are disgusting, there was stinky trash under the sink, the carpets weren't even vacuumed...you get the idea. So I have been painting, my sister has been staining cabinets and tiling for me, and we've tried to do some cleaning, oh and still pack up the old house, get the kids to do their homework, entertain a 1 and 5 yr. old while trying to paint a room (that's fun), plan and set up for the Cub Scout Blue & Gold, make it to doctors appointments, and various other wonderful things that have all happened in the last 3 days. Well, needless to say, I CAN'T do it all, and have broken down and hired people to do it for me! I hired painters today for the new house, a lady to clean the house before we move in, and to clean the old house after we move out. I feel a big load taken off.. now ALL I have to do is pack, and take care of the kids, and cook for the Blue and Gold, and run over to the new house for various deliveries, and stop to read to my daughter every now and then! I NEVER want to move again!!! Isn't being the Mom the best?! Well, my 15 min. rest is up, time to get back to it!
