Go-Karting!

We had a wonderfully cool day in July, and I thought Go-Karting would be the perfect activity.
This boy below wasn't really thrilled about it...too cool for our silly activity.
But I know he had a good time.
(Look at him trying NOT to smile-haha!)

Madelyn enjoyed herself. She was pretty sure she was the best driver.

Morgan caught this photo of Madelyn running up to tell her how much fun she had!

 Story behind these next photos:
I had to ride with Duncan, Ashlyn, and Madelyn. I left Hayden & Morgan in charge of my purse. "Make sure you DON'T leave it!" I said
Then, as Madelyn is getting out, and Duncan is getting in...Hayden & Morgan walk over too.
"Where's my purse guys?"
"Oops!"
Me asking "Where's my purse?"                  Hayden made sure to have the purse with him, and
showed it to me as I drove by.

Duncan was not so happy.
We thought he'd be able to ride on his own, but he ended up being too short.
He didn't take it well.

Ashlyn by far was the best driving companion. Morgan didn't get a photo of her, but I had a blast!
She kept yelling out: "Whooo Hooo!!!"
"BEST. DAY. EVER!!!!"
"Make this thing go faster momma!"
"I LOOOOOOVE This!"
It was great.

End of Swim Season

The swim team season is over.
Honestly I was ready for it.
I was SO over the 8:00am practices, and 7:30am meet times!
Don't get me wrong, I really do love that my kids (3 of them at least) are on the summer swim team. We have a lot of fun with it. I was just ready this year for the sleeping in to start!
Ashlyn had been counting down the days till the 'End of Year Party', where she would get her trophy! So excited for it!
Here is the 6 & under girls.

Super excited about that trophy!

9/10 boys.

 This boy did great.
His first year on the team-and he gave it his all!

 Morgan and some friends.
Swim team is always a blast when you've got friends on the team!

See ya next year Phelps Luck Snappers!!!

Camping at the Beach!

We took a quick last minute trip to Assateague Island to camp with the wild horses.
We were less one person, as Hayden was at EFY that week.
We set up camp and then hit the beach!
The kids of course thoroughly enjoyed their time in the ocean!

This cutie had fun in the sand.

Duncan and a water gun at the beach-so fun!

This girl had SO MUCH fun running, jumping, splashing and playing in the waves!!

These 4 had a blast riding the waves together.
We missed Hayden though.

 Fun, fun, fun.

 The above photo is Ronan.
This is pretty much how we saw him most of the day.
He enjoyed putting his goggles on, and just going limp in the surf, letting it move him around as though he was a piece of wood.
Easily entertained.

Everyone is searching for sand crabs.

Looking for sand crabs.

This flag Ronan stuck in the sand when we first got there saying:
"We herby claim this land!"
They had fun with it.

Protect the land around the flag.

 Digging time.

Ashlyn practiced some cartwheels.

Madelyn enjoyed walking down the beach a bit, watching her foot prints and going after birds.

She's off again!

Fun to have a brother to play with.

 Treasures found.

 Duncan's sand crabs he found!

Here's a bit of a TMI story:
Madelyn had to go to the bathroom...so I took her back to the bath house near our campsite (nearest bathroom). Not less than 10 minutes after we return to the beach she says she has to go again!
"Go pee in the sea.", Brian says.
"NOOOO! I can't do that!"
"Well, we aren't walking all the way back to the bathroom right now."
So, she walked towards the ocean and assumed this posture....
A minute later she excitedly ran up and down the beach yelling,
"I peed in the sea! I peed in the sea!"
How precious.

That night while we were sitting around our camp fire we got a visit from 3 of the wild horses.
The kids thought it was the best thing ever!

In the morning Ashlyn went for a little bike ride around the camp site.

And one more trip to the beach before we head home....

This was our little friend who kept peeking out where Brian & I were sitting.

Madelyn was crying.
We all thought she had said she wanted to go in the water with Morgan.
 Nope.
The crying got worse when she took her out!
Apparently she wanted to play 'horses' with the girls.
Once that was figured out, all was well!
