February 14, 2013

Did you feel lots of love this past month?
We had fun putting notes and treats in the kids mailboxes.
Madelyn loved making valentines each day to surprise someone with when they came home!

 Love, Love, Love.

The house was filled with hearts on Valentines Day!
The kids woke up to 'Heart Attack' in their rooms.

 Heart biscuits for breakfast.

Hearts on the doors and windows.

And of course hearts in the girls hair!

Happy Heart Day!

Did you hear?

Feb. 5, 2013

The Ravens won the Superbowl!!!

Now....we are not much of a football family around here.
But, we do get excited when our home team makes it to the Superbowl.
To be fair, these two girls were fans even before that point.
And the Friday before the Superbowl they had to show their pride for school!
(Only, Morgan's jersy was missing (later found stuck in the laundry shute), and Ashlyn didn't own a Raven's shirt. SO, I was standing outside Targets door at 8:00am waiting for them to open with 5 other parents all there for the same reason-Purple Friday! It was slim pickings, but we found something!)

We made cupcakes and watched the Superbowl as a family for the first time EVER!
Until the lights went out that is....
It was late, and who knew when they would come back on, so we sent the kids to bed.
Apparently we were the meanest ever.
But, the 5:00am wake up was coming whether we stayed up for them or not, right?
Glad they won though!

Sad story:
The Victory Parade was in Baltimore the following Tues., and I made arrangements to take Morgan out of school and go with some friends. She was SO excited!
That morning Ashlyn woke up with a fever.
We had to cancel.
She was SO bummed. :(
AND, my sister went that day and I didn't even think to call and ask her to take Morgan!
Dang!
Oh well....we've gotten over it.

Special Day with Ashlyn

January 22, 2013

Ashlyn and I had our 'Special Date' at the Science Center in Baltimore.
She had been looking forward to this for some time now.
It was so fun to explore the museum with just her.

Laying on a bed of nails.

Checking out things in the space area.

The highlight for Ashlyn was the dino dig though!
This was the main reason she picked this activity.
She could of stayed there and uncovered bones all day long.
Loved spending time with my little bug.

Skate party

January 21, 2013
Duncan's Cub Scout den had a skating party.
We decided to make it a family affair.
We get into the skating rink for free with our CA membership, and I've been picking up roller blades for the kids at Thrift stores, and it makes a fun, free event!

Ashlyn was doing really good out there!

Madelyn liked to 'skate' between Hayden and I.
Basically we just pull her around the rink.

Fun day!

Zombie Prom

We went to a friends birthday party in January. She turned 30, and apparently it was the end of the world! Or Zombie Apocalypse to be exact.

Dress code: Come in your best Zombie Prom attire

When we were ready we came down to show the kids and see if we were 'scary'.
Apparently not....the girls just laughed at us as we pretended to eat their brains.

This was our first ever Zombie party.
Once there I realized I had far too little blood.
And my clothes were far too intact.
But we had a good time!

 Here's some of the husbands.
(I didn't post any of the other women, because I wasn't sure how they'd feel about that)

The birthday girl and her husband were the best Zombie's I've seen!

It was a super fun party, we had a blast!
Complete with a Brain cake and all!
