I scream! You scream! We all scream for Ice Cream!

Yesterday we had a neighborhood ice cream party on the deck.
It was a hot day, and we had to eat it fast,
but it was a blast!
I told 2 neighbors, "Meet at our deck at 3:00pm for an ice cream party."
It's amazing how quickly the word spread!
We even had a few adults who caught wind of it and joined us!
Have I mentioned that I love summer??
When we were done, I let the sticky faces run through the sprinkler.
Quick and easy fun.

Take me out to the ball game!

Last night we had tickets to see the Orioles at Camden Yards!

We were very excited for this summer tradition.
Unfortunately do to certain events that transpired in the afternoon,
Madelyn and I were unable to attend.
But, Brian and the other children carried on!
Brian actually ended up with 2 more children, as we let the kids offer Madelyn's and I's tickets to some friends. So, Brian and 7 children went to the ball game!
Our neighbor and his 2 kids went too.
They all had a blast I heard!
They had frozen lemonade, nachos, boardwalk fries,
and Cracker Jack's (all part of the experience)!
It rained a bit, and they LOVED it!
But, the highlight of the night was.....
The foul ball that Duncan got!
He was flying high when they came home!
I'm so happy they all had such a great time.
Sorry I missed it.
Grateful for a wonderful husband who carried on with the fun!

Happy Father's day

To the Father of our Home

I wanted this to be a great Father's Day for Brian.
SO....
I slept in WITH him.
(He likes to be together)
I let him help me cook breakfast.
(He likes to cook-and again with the together thing)
The children presented him with cards of love.
Ashlyn insisted ONLY Daddy wipe her on the potty today.
(Kind of a gift to me I'd say)
I did drive to church, and dropped HIM off with the kids at the door, while I parked the van.
I also drug out the reluctant Duncan from the back of the van and brought him in with me.
(He was upset that we wouldn't allow him to bring the game of Life to church-you know.)
The kids sang in sacrament meeting to the dads.
(Nice)
After church I let him have a nap.
(I might of took a small one too)
We played a board game together with the kids.
(This was his requested gift. Along with obedience, happiness, and peace in the home, but you know how hard THAT is to deliver!)
We ended the night with Morgan and Ashlyn switching rooms.
Long story...
Morgan was in tears, Ashlyn was over the moon, and Madelyn wanted a 'big' bed.
Happy Father's Day Brian!
We all love and adore you!

The kids elementary school does a carnival every year.
It's always a good time.
 They bounced
 Slid
 Dunked the Vice Principle

 Played games.

Won BIG prizes!

Ate snow cones

And cotton candy.

 Got faces painted.

Looked cute.

And danced in the rain!

It's one of those events that means the start of summer!

Friday afternoon...

I love a good lazy Friday afternoon.
The kids have no homework.
(yes, we are STILL in school)
We have no big plans.
And we all just relax!

Unfortunately it does a number on my house.....
An abandoned game of Life in the dinning room.

 Cookies cooling in the kitchen.
(I don't mind this part)

The kitchen counter that EVERYTHING gets set on!
(And the mound on the table behind it)

This puzzel has been a permanent part of the coffee table these days.
Ashlyn LOVES it, and does it over and over again!

The living room looks like it's been ransacked.

 The family room as well.

Oh, and the SHOES!

But 'where's all the people' you ask?
Relaxing outside of course.
Because it's a beautiful Friday afternoon!
The clean-up can wait.

We're On Our Way

Last night was Duncan's 1st grade 'celebration'.
Titled: 'We're On Our Way'

Duncan's the yellow one-can you tell?
(I love how even in his silhouette his hair is sticking up!)

They sang and danced and entertained us for an hour.
It was so cute, and they did a great job!

Love that 7 year old boy!

Duncan and his very good friend Judson.

 Goodbye 1st grade!
It's been a blast.

And the saintly woman who taught them all!
Ms. Bainbridge-we love you!
