January 2015

January was a time to get cozy ...
Jax was loving cozying up to Madelyn in the cold weather.

We got some good snow and had some fun sledding!
(Ashlyn, Duncan, & Madelyn)

Our homeschool PE group met indoors, with fun games in the gym!

It was a great time to mix boiling water with frozen air...
And make some clouds!

The 3 younger kids studied plants and seeds in science.
We disected a few seeds/beans, and started some growing.

The Visitors Center at the DC Temple got a new model, where you can see the inside of the temple!
The kids were excited to go down and take a look at it!

Ice skating served as another great PE option for January!
Madelyn and Ashlyn caught on really quickly!

And Madelyn got her first hair cut EVER!

Although I wouldn't really call it a cut, more like her first hair trim ever!
Her hair got long enough that the curls started straightening out, and it was time to straighten the ends.

Christmas 2014!

Christmas came and went in a flash is seems!
I once again, I regret not snapping more photos...

Christmas Eve we had our Christmas dinner with Aunt Missy & Matt.
Watched the Nativity, opened sibling gifts, and left Santa a treat.
Madelyn left a 'Love' note for Santa along with his pumpkin pie and carrot for the reindeer.

Normally we start Christmas morning at 6:00am
Aunt Missy comes over then, and the kids come down and we begin the fun.
This year I declared that we would wait until 7:00am!
That didn't work out so well....they were of course up at 6:00am, and we just kept them busy and upstairs until 7:00am when Aunt Missy & Matt arrived.
And then they flew down like a flash!

We opened up what Santa brought.
And then had breakfast together.

After breakfast, we went in and opened up gifts that family members had sent us.

It was a nice morning, and we had a fun time together.

Some of their favorite gifts....
Books! Of course.

Canvases for more art creating!

Nerf gun of course!

And that night, as well as most nights of our Christmas break, we played games together!
Merry Christmas!!
